Hamilton Accies have announced a trio of new signings with Aaron McGowan, Sam Kelly and Aaron Smith all joining the Lanarkshire club.

Full back McGowan joins from Morecambe, where he was a first team regular and Accies manager Martin Canning says he's recruited a player who will fit in perfectly at New Douglas Park.

Aaron fits the profile of player that has become synonymous with the success of Hamilton Accies in recent years; he's young, hungry and, despite only being 21, has played over 100 games at first team level.

'He's another one we've been following for a while. He has improved year on year, evidenced with the personal accolades he picked up last season, so we're delighted he's chosen Hamilton Accies as the place to continue his development.''"

Attacking midfielder Kelly was a free agent after leaving Grimsby and aims to add creativity to Accies. The 24-year-old told the club's website: "When I spoke to the gaffer here, it ticked all the boxes.

"From the discussions, I tick a lot of boxes for him as well; I'm a creative player, I'm fast and can play centrally or wide.''

Fellow attacker Smith joins the club after being Nottingham Forest Under-23s top scorer last season and he ha set his sights on earning a regular first team place.

Canning told Hamilton's website: ''Aaron is one who we think has potential and can develop further in our environment. He's got good ability, has goals in him from midfield and we're really looking forward to working with him.''
