Rangers forward Ryan Hardie is to return to Livingston on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old impressed after joining the Lions for the second half of the last campaign, winning Championship Player of the Month for his displays in February.

Scotland youth international Hardie penned a one-year extension with the Light Blues earlier this month but he has been given the green light by Steven Gerrard to link up again with Livi after their promotion to the Premiership.

Hardie will be working under a new manager at the Tony Macaroni Arena following David Hopkin's departure from the club.

His former Ibrox teammate Kenny Miller is the favourite to step in as player-coach, with the veteran forward set for further talks with the Lions hierarchy this afternoon.

Former Falkirk coach Gary Holt also in the running.
