Katie Archibald claimed Scotland's second gold medal of the Commonwealth Games by winning the women's 3000m individual pursuit.

The Scot, who set a new Games record en route to the gold medal race, responded brilliantly to early pressure from Rebecca Wiasak to overtake the home nation favourite and take the title.

Joining his younger sister on the podium, John Archibald took home silver in the men's 4000m individual pursuit - also setting a new record time of 4:13.068 seconds in the run-up to the final.

Jack Carlin finished fourth in the men's keirin final.

Meanwhile at the Gold Coast Aquatic centre, Duncan Scott won bronze after an epic men's 200m freestyle final which featured four Olympic champions.

Elsewhere, Scotland's female gymnasts impressed. They have at worst equalled their fifth place finish in Glasgow after topping two sub-divisions.

Scotland also got off the mark in the beach volleyball as Melissa Coutts and Lynee Beattie beat Granada's pair 2-0.
