Hamilton Accies midfielder Darian MacKinnon could be forced to miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury.

The 32-year-old was sidelined after colliding with Dundee youngster Matty Henvey, who was also injured, in Saturday's 2-1 defeat.

Manager Martin Canning confirmed his defensive midfielder will miss at least two months of the season but that could stretch to the remainder of the campaign.

He also confirmed he is hopeful of bringing in another four players before the transfer window shuts on Wednesday night.

The Premiership club are looking to bring in two defenders and two midfielders with some of the deals "quite far down the line".

Canning said: "A third one I thought was done this morning and I've since found out the club he's at are being a lot more difficult to deal with to get him out his contract.

"So that one is now in the balance. We have another two I'm speaking to, so hopefully we can get maybe four in."

Tenth-placed Hamilton Accies travel to Pittodrie to play third-placed Aberdeen in the league on Saturday.
