Rangers have been boosted by scan results revealing Graham Dorrans does not require surgery on his his ankle injury.

The midfielder has not played since Pedro Caixinha's final game in charge when he featured for just 22 minutes of the 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock last month.

He limped off with an ankle knock following a challenge with Alan Power and has missed the last two fixtures under temporary boss Graeme Murty.

While he will not go under the knife, Rangers still do not know when to expect him to make his return to fitness.

"He has seen a consultant and had a scan down south," Murty said.

"He has a positive resolution for us so we can move forward now. We're not going to have an invasive solution to it so that's really positive for us.

"I haven't got a timescale at the moment for you but as soon as I get one it will come out."
