Kieran Tierney insists his focus remains on performing well for Celtic despite being linked with several of Europe's top clubs.

The 20-year-old signed a new six-year-deal with the Scottish champions last week.

But a series of impressive performances for club and country ensure Tierney continues to attract plaudits from across the continent.

When asked whether he has aspirations to one day test himself in the English Premier League, the full-back stated that his ambition has always been to play for Celtic and that he's living the dream every day he pulls on the Hoops jersey.

He said: "I've always had aspirations to play for Celtic, and that's what I'm doing.

"I'm very happy here, that's why I've signed a long-term deal.

He added: "I know I'm still young and have a lot of learning to do but I'm under the right manager to do that.

"People are giving me compliments but I don't like talking about my game to much.

"I just want to train hard and play on the Saturday.

"Hopefully, I play well and where that takes me it will take me."

The full-back scored the first goal of Celtic's undefeated run as Ronny Deilia's champions-elect ran riot on the final day of the 2015/2016 campaign, beating Motherwell 7-0.

Brendan Rodgers has since overseen a 62-game streak without defeat that leaves Celtic one game away from breaking a British record which has stood for 100 years.

A win or draw will see the Hoops surpass their own record, set between 1915-17 under their first manager Willie Maley.

Tierney reckons it would be a monumental accomplishment for the Parkhead club.

He said:"It was my first goal, with my right foot as well and I don't score many of them.

"It was a great day, it was trophy day and for me to get my first professional goal was great.

"It's some achievement from the boys to go that long (unbeaten) but we've not set out to beat any record, we set out to play hard, press high and win every game.
