West Brom winger Oliver Burke has failed to make the latest Scotland under-21s squad because of injury.

The captain will miss the 2019 European qualifiers against Latvia and Ukraine this month as he recovers from a hamstring problem.

St Mirren midfielder Kyle Magennis has been called up to join Paisley teammates Liam Smith, who is on loan from Hearts, and Lewis Morgan in the squad.

Winger Michael Johnston, who started for Celtic against Kilmarnock on Saturday, has dropped out.

The 18-year-old will instead be involved in a trio of under-19 European qualifiers against Luxembourg, Armenia and Czech Republic.

Scot Gemmill's under-21s play both of this month's qualifiers at McDiarmid Park, facing Latvia on November 10 and Ukraine four days later.
