Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha says he doesn't fear he will lose his job after a miserable week continued with a 1-1 draw at home to Kilmarnock.

Caixinha had challenged his players to show their qualities after they lost the League Cup semi-final to Motherwell on Sunday but saw them concede a late equaliser in a dramatic final few minutes at Ibrox.

Jason Holt had given Rangers just before half-time and the hosts looked to be wrapping up three points when awarded a penalty as the clock ticked down.

Before the spot kick was taken, Ryan Jack was sent off for an off-the-ball clash with Kirk Broadfoot and when the penalty was finally taken, Daniel Candeias saw his effort saved by Jamie MacDonald. Kilmarnock then scored an equaliser through Chris Burke.

Asked if the result meant he worried he would lose his job, Caixinha said: "No, I am just worried about getting in in the morning and doing my very best and keep looking forward as usual.

"I am strong enough to take things forward and always look to put things in the right place."

The manager said that he has seen the response he wanted after the cup exit but said that forced tactical changes meant the players didn't get a grip of the game.

"We asked the boys for a good reaction and they tried to do that, especially in the first half," Caixinha said. "We had to change (Graham) Dorrans after 15 minutes so the dynamic in midfield was totally different after that.

"We took a while to understand the dynamics with the two strikers. We had a few chances and scored and Herrera had another chance and after that we could not control the game. I remember a few mistakes got the opponents back in the game.

"We had a lot of situations where we had to replace players and change formations. I am happy with their efforts.

"We thought everything was finished with the penalty but football can be cruel sometimes and it was cruel for us today."
