Scotland have broken back into the top 30 of the FIFA rankings after they were announced on Monday.
A win over Slovakia and draw with Slovenia in October, coupled with old results dropping off, has taken the nation to 29th spot.
It represents Scotland's highest position since July 2015, when Gordon Strachan took the team to the same ranking.
Strachan's highest position as Scotland manager was 22nd in April and May 2014.
Scotland's highest position in the rankings was 13th in October 2007, following the 1-0 away win over France in the Euro 2008 qualifiers.
The nation started this year in 67th place but have improved almost every month, eventually jumping 15 spots to 43rd in September.
Scotland remain unbeaten in 2017 having picked up four wins and two draws in their failed 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.
