There were ten goals scored across the five games in the top flight.
Motherwell took bragging rights in the Lanarkshire derby with a 2-1 win at Hamilton Academical.
The home side took an early lead through Giannis Skondras after just 15 minutes but Andy Rose drew Motherwell level just after the half hour mark.
Stephen Robinson's side then put themselves on the road to three points with a goal from defender Peter Hartley on 51 minutes. The Steelmen held on for a victory that moved them up to fifth in the table.
League leaders Celtic kept their lengthy unbeaten run going against Dundee but didn't find it easy going against Neil McCann's side. Olivier Ntcham scored the only goal of the game to move his side onto 20 points and keep them ahead of Aberdeen on goal difference.
The Dons kept pace with a narrow victory of their own. Gary Mackay-Steven scored to give them a 1-0 win against Hibs at Easter Road.
Partick Thistle and Kilmarnock were both at the wrong end of the table with just three points each before they met at Firhill but the Ayrshire side had a pre-match boost with the announcement that Steve Clarke is the club's new manager.
Clarke watched on from the stands as goals from Kris Boyd and Adam Frizell gave his side a 2-0 away win.
There was an eventful encounter between Ross County and Hearts in Dingwall. Isma Goncalves scored to put Hearts ahead on 34 minutes but the home side equalised just two minutes later through Davis Keillor-Dunn.
Jamie Walker, who had set up the opener, fired in the goal that made it 2-1 to Hearts on the hour mark. Connor Randall was sent off for the visitors but they held on to claim the win.
