Celtic are likely to have a trio of key players back from injury when they play Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Skipper Scott Brown, fellow midfielder Stuart Armstrong and defender Jozo Simunovic all missed international duty while receiving treatment but are returning to training ahead of the European match.

Manager Brendan Rodgers said the trio will not be risked in the Premiership match against Dundee but said they had all progressed well and would be ready to face the German champions.

"[Jozo], like Scott Brown and Stuart Armstrong, is very unlikely to be involved on Saturday but all three should train and hopefully be ready for Bayern Munich," Rodgers said.

"So it was never an injury that was going to keep him out for a sustained period of time but he just felt something and stayed behind to get treatment.

"[Brown and Armstrong] are great. They've come through very, very well. They'll join the squad tomorrow for training and maybe Saturday is too soon for them but certainly Bayern Munich should be fine."

The Celtic boss also said Tom Rogic would miss the league game but only because he will not return from international duty with Australia until Friday.

Teenage defender Anthony Ralston is also sidelined.

He remained with Celtic instead of joining up with Scotland under-21s during the international break to undergo treatment on a knee injury but is not yet fit for first team action.
