Louis Moult says bringing League Cup success to Motherwell would be a dream moment for him even as he considers a move away from the club next year.

The Motherwell striker has continued his goalscoring form this season, scoring nine goals in 13 matches.

Three of those goals came in the league last month, earning Moult the Premiership Player of the Month award for September.

In addition, he found the net as Motherwell defeated Aberdeen to reach the semi-finals of the League Cup.

Moult is out of contract at the end of the season and, having turned down a new deal, is expected to leave the club.

He said the perfect way to exit Fir Park would be having helped deliver success in a memorable way by scoring a Hampden winner.

"If I do go, that would be unbelievable," he said.

"If we got to the final and I scored the winner, that's what dreams are made of. That and we finish in the top six.

"That's what I'll be thinking before the games, put it that way. Hopefully it can happen like that."

Regardless of his contract situation, Moult's focus has not changed and he said he still has only one thing on his mind every time he takes to the field.

"I approach every game the same," he said. "In my mind I want to score in every game I play in. That's what goes through my head before the game.

"That's what the gaffer brought me in for, what the football club bought me for. I'm a goalscorer. If I'm not scoring goals what am I doing?

"That's what I've got to do and hopefully I can carry on doing it."
