Rodgers has done 'incredible job' with Deila's squad
Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell was delighted with his side's 3-0 win over Anderlecht.
Peter Lawwell says Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has done an incredible job with a squad largely made up of players from Ronny Deila's time at the club.
The Parkhead side won their first away fixture in the Champions League on Wednesday when they defeated Anderlecht 3-0 in Belgium.
It keeps their hopes of European football after Christmas alive, especially with group opponents Bayern Munich losing 3-0 to Paris Saint-Germain on the same night.
While Lawwell was naturally delighted with the result away from home he also praised the way Rodgers has turned the club around since his arrival last summer.
"Fantastic performance," he told STV. "It was a fantastic, mature European performance so we're delighted.
"And it was against a club you can really benchmark and measure yourself against. I think we came out with flying colours.
"It's been remarkable, the majority of the players that appeared for the first team each week and appeared last night were at Celtic with Ronny before Brendan came."
He added: "So he's done an incredible job, he's an outstanding manager and outstanding coach, and I'm delighted for him.
"The amount of work he puts in, the coaches put in, the way the players have developed and the way they are performing, it's been remarkable really."
