Brendan Rodgers brushes off Craig Bellamy CV criticism
Rodgers said he is loving life in Glasgow and hasn't thought about his career beyond Celtic.
Brendan Rodgers has shrugged off comments from Craig Bellamy about the manager's achievements at Celtic and said he "loves life" in Glasgow.
Former Celtic striker Bellamy had said that titles won in Scotland wouldn't register with clubs in England if they were considering Rodgers for a job down south and said that Celtic were unchallenged.
Rodgers said that his focus was on doing the best job that he could in Glasgow and hadn't given any consideration to other clubs or his CV.
"Craig is a guy I respect," he said. "He was a very good player who came up here so he understands what it is like up here.
"It's not something I really think about, to be honest. I am not up here to work on my next move from Celtic. I am here because of Celtic.
"I'm not really sure where it'll take me after here but what registers for me is making the supporters here really proud and happy to watch their team.
"I love my life here in Glasgow, I enjoy working for this club and preparing my team along with my staff for us to win and win well.
"I am not overly bothered what it does for my CV."
The Celtic boss admitted that there would probably be other jobs after his current role but emphasised how content he was with the work he was doing in Glasgow and delivering for supporters.
"My only worry is for Celtic, to do the best I possibly can here for the length of time I am here and we will see what happens after that," he said.
"I'm now in my fifth job as a manager so I'm not in a rush any more. I've had great clubs before this here and I'm now at a club that I love being at so I'm not necessarily worrying or thinking about my next move.
"My only concern and worry is for Celtic and being the best that I can be here.
"After here if it takes me back to Ballymena United in Northern Ireland or elsewhere abroad or the Premier League so be it.
"I'm going to be working for another 15 or 20 years as a manager so there might be another one or two clubs, especially how football works.
"My only concern is doing the very best for Celtic, for the supporters and for the people that employ me and of course for the players. Other than that, I don't really worry."
