Cadden happy at Motherwell after 'enjoying' deadline day
The midfielder said a late bid from Oxford was "a good bit of publicity".
Motherwell midfielder Chris Cadden admits he loved the attention that came from being a deadline day transfer target, despite it not materialising into a move away from Fir Park.
Cadden is preparing to help his side try to reach Hampden in their League Cup quarter final against Aberdeen but life could have been different if the club had accepted a sizeable bid from Oxford United on the closing day of the summer transfer window.
The player laughed off the interest, saying he liked being part of the news coverage but insisted he is more than happy to remain at his local club.
"It didn't really bother me," he said. "It was a good bit of publicity and I was enjoying it.
"I'm in no rush to leave. I live two minutes down the road. I'm loving life here and it's brilliant.
"I was aware of it. I was away with Scotland at the time and sitting watching transfer deadline day. Seeing your name coming up is all right, to be fair. I quite liked it.
"I was loving a bit of publicity but it didn't affect me. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing until I'm told otherwise."
Cadden could get more publicity if he can help his team reach the semi-finals at Hampden by knocking out Aberdeen and would repay the faith the club has shown in him.
"It's massive because if you go and do well at Hampden it's obviously great," he said.
"Motherwell has been brilliant for me. I've been here since I was yay high and the gaffer's given me a chance so I'm really grateful."
