Riot police armed with batons used pepper spray on Aberdeen fans as tempers flared after the club's Europa League defeat in Cyprus.
Dons supporters clashed with stewards following Aberdeen's 2-0 defeat at the AEK Arena in Larnaca.
Punches and kicks were exchanged before riot police wielding batons and aiming pepper spray at fans quickly took over, pushing supporters back.
Aberdeen chief executive Duncan Fraser appealed for calm from the pitch but his calls were ignored.
The Dons have launched an investigation into the crowd trouble.
A spokesman for the club said: "Following incidents at the end of this evening's match in Larnaca, the club can confirm it has commenced dialogue with the stadium operators, Apollon Limassol and the authorities.
"As part of this, the club has requested that CCTV footage is interrogated in order to assist matters.
"The club will not be making any further comment until the conclusion of this comprehensive investigation."
