Scotland's Under-20s missed out on booking their place in the final of the Toulon Tournament after losing 3-0 to England.
The Auld Enemy clash in Fos-sur-Mer, in the south of France, was the first game of the compeition's knockout stages.
Scott Gemmill's side went behind early in the clash, conceding to a Harvey Barnes goal after just seven minutes.
Elliot Embleton then doubled their lead six minutes into the start of the second half before Barnes added a third on 65 minutes.
Scotland recorded an impressive 1-0 victory over Brazil in the group stages with Kilmarnock's Greg Taylor scoring the only goal of the game.
Gemmill's team lost their opening game to Czech Republic 3-2 but a Ryan Hardie double secured a 2-1 win in their final game over Indonesia.
Brazil's goalless draw with Czech Republic later that evening meant Scotland progressed to the semi finals as the best-placed runners-up.
Ivory Coast face Czech Republic in the other semi final on Thursday evening. Scotland will face the losing side in Saturday's third-place play-off.
