Andy Murray progresses to second round of French Open
The Scot dropped a set against Andrey Kuznetsov but is through to face Martin Klizan.
Andy Murray is through to the second round of the French Open after beating Andrey Kuznetsov in four sets.
The world number one suffered a scare when Kuznetsov, ranked 73rd in the world, took the second set but answered questions about his fitness and form to win 6-4 4-6 6-2 6-0.
Murray had won only four matches on clay this season and was pleased to come through with a bit to spare against someone he said was an awkward opponent.
"He goes for his shots, plays very aggressive, hits the ball pretty flat so he takes your time away," Murray said.
"It was quite windy today. I started to feel a little bit better as the match went on but I expected a tough match because he's played well during the clay-court season."
The Scot moves on to face Slovakia's Martin Klizan, the world number 50, in the next round.
