Neil McCann leaves Dundee as club look for new manager
The former Dens Park player was interim boss for the last few weeks of the season.
Dundee have announced interim manager Neil McCann has left the club as they look to appoint a permanent successor.
McCann was appointed interim boss in April when the club parted company with Paul Hartley after a disappointing run of results saw them sit 11th in the table.
The TV pundit turned the fortunes around at Dens Park and steered Dundee to safety, finishing 10th in the table.
Speaking to the club's official website McCann said: "I'd like to thank everyone at Dundee for their hard work in the time I was manager there.
"It was an honour to become manager of the club where my playing career started and finished and I'm very proud I was able to succeed in keeping them in the Scottish Premiership."
Managing director John Nelms said: "On behalf of the entire Dundee Football Club family I'd like to thank Neil for his interim spell in charge.
"He came in and did the job we asked him to do. The club once again owes Neil a debt of gratitude. Neil is certainly a credit to Dundee Football Club and Scottish football as a whole."
Dundee will now look to appoint a permanent successor to McCann, with the club saying "extensive discussions" have already taken place regarding the vacant post.
