Roberts reflects on Celtic treble before Man City return
The winger says he just wants to play every week after successful spell in Glasgow.
Patrick Roberts is hoping to keep playing regular first team football as he returns to Manchester City after winning the treble with Celtic.
The on-loan winger played his part as Celtic went through the Scottish season without defeat but will return to City to learn what Pep Guardiola has planned for him.
The 20-year old joined the English Premier League giants for £11m in 2015 but has spent the last 18 months developing in Glasgow. With Guardiola revamping his squad as he plans for a title challenge next year, Roberts admitted his future was unclear but he wanted to be playing regularly.
"I don't know, we'll see what happens," he said. "I'll have a break and then go back to Man City and then we'll see where it goes from there.
"I just want to enjoy my football. I want to play every week and enjoy playing football, like I did when I was a kid. If I can do that I will be happy."
Roberts credited Celtic with playing a key part in his development and said that he felt pride at having been part of a season that will go down in the history books.
"I have come on leaps and bounds and it's all thanks to the manager and Celtic for giving me that opportunity," he said.
"To win a treble at such a young age is massive for me and I can take that on into my career.
"Not many players feel like this in their career - the invincibles last week and to win the treble this week is some feat. I'm proud to play a part in it and proud to be a part of this club."
