Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has confirmed Ryan Jack will leave the club this summer but says he does not know the midfielder's next move.

The Dons captain is reaching the end of his contract at Pittodrie and will become a free agent, with reports linking him with a move to Rangers.

McInnes, who was irritated by Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha discussing the player this week, said Jack had confirmed his departure recently and he would be looking to bring in a top-quality replacement.

"Others seem to know more than I do, if what I'm hearing is true, but Ryan has now informed us it's his intention to move on from Aberdeen," McInnes said.

"He's informed me of that in the last couple of days. But there has been no official approach from any club with regards speaking to Ryan.

"But if he's moving on, as it looks likely now that Ryan has told me that, where he ends up I do not know.

"We're disappointed but we have prepared ourselves to try and deal with losing some good players and I'm confident we will get good players in."
