Pedro Caixinha has said he and Derek McInnes have drawn a line under their public spat following a week of verbal sparring before and after Aberdeen's visit to Ibrox.

After seeing his side lose 2-1 to Aberdeen on Wednesday, Caixinha said McInnes would not be welcome in his office for the managers' customary chat and glass of wine.

He said he felt he had been disrespected on his visit to Pittodrie.

McInnes, annoyed by Caixinha discussing his player Ryan jack and his suggestions the Dons' run of success was in danger of ending soon, said Rangers should be "embarrassed" at finishing third in the Premiership this season.

Asked on Friday about his relationship with the Aberdeen boss, Caixinha revealed he met McInnes and they had called a halt to to their war of words.

"We had a very good glass of fantastic Portuguese wine," he said. "And with a fantastic glass of Portuguese wine, everything stays clear, that's what matters.

"[Our relationship is] as it should be, as is usual, not only with him but all the managers in the world.

"One glass of wine clarifies everything. It's done and everything stays in my office. What's private is private."

McInnes was a little more cool on the events of the last week, saying: "I don't want to comment any further other than really a couple of things have been said that disappoint me.

"I think it's a wee bit of a sideshow. But other than that I just want to focus on the performance and result of the team, which were excellent."
