Scott Sinclair said Celtic's 2-0 Scottish Cup semi-final win against Rangers was one of the team's best performances under Brendan Rodgers.

The winger scored from the penalty spot after Callum McGregor had given his side the lead and victory put Celtic one game away from the treble. As the team looks to become only the third Celtic side to complete the feat, Sinclair believes they have shown some of their best form.

"It feels great," he said. "I think that was one of the best team performances we've had all season.

"I thought we controlled the game from start to finish and it was a great performance."

Sinclair took responsibility from the spot after Leigh Griffiths was fouled by James tavernier and he said the second goal gave Celtic freedom to enjoy possession and not feel they had to step back and defend a narrow advantage.

"It's always nice to get the second goal," he said. "If it stayed at 1-0 then maybe we would have been a little bit more on the back foot but from start to finish we felt comfortable in the game with the way we passed the ball around and created our chances.

"Putting the pen away to make it 2-0 made it more comfortable."

The penalty was Sinclair's 24th goal of the season and he's been tipped as the frontrunner for the PFA Player of the Year award. He admitted it would be an honour but says he still has plenty of football to focus on without thinking of individual recognition.

"For any player, you would be over the moon," he said. "That's at the back of my mind right now and the main priority is to get the job done and keep improving and just keep winning games."
