Mark McGhee handed touchline ban for foul and abusive language
The Motherwell boss has been handed a three-game ban, one of which is suspended.
Motherwell boss Mark McGhee has been hit with a touchline ban for using abusive language towards an official in his team's 2-0 loss to Dundee.
Scotland assistant manager McGhee was handed a three-match ban, one of which is suspended, after admitting being verbally abusive towards the match officials as well as a Dundee steward.
McGhee expressed his anger at referee John Beaton and his team after they failed to award a goal after Dundee goalkeeper David Mitchell appeared to bundle Scott McDonald's shot over the line.
The 59-year-old attended the Hampden hearing to plead his case but he will now have to watch matches against Kilmarnock and Aberdeen from the stands.
After the game, McGhee said: "The goal that wasn't given is clearly a goal. There is no doubt. At the time I thought that and, having looked on the camera, it's a goal.
"It didn't cause us to lose the game but I think it caused us not to win the game."
