Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has spoken of his respect for Celtic ahead of the Champions League match between the sides on Tuesday.

Brendan Rodgers takes his team to the Etihad Stadium for their final group stage game with no prospect of reaching the knockout stages or the Europa League.

One of the highlights of the campaign so far was a thrilling 3-3 draw with City at Celtic Park, however, w which left an impression on Guardiola.

He reflected on Celtic's attacking approach as he prepared for the return match.

"In Glasgow they played so aggressively, they played quite well," he said. "My impression of the team is really good.

"I don't know what my colleague [Brendan Rodgers] is going to do tomorrow because they have no chance of going through in the Champions League or to the Europa League but it was a good impression with their wingers. Not just Dembele but Patrick Roberts and Scott Sinclair."

City have had ups and downs themselves through the group stage but are already through to the knockout stages.

The English side can't take first in their group and Guardiola seemed to be looking forward to a relaxed night with nothing but pride at stake.

"They are a really good team and it will be a good test for us," he added. "It's perfect for us to play that game last. I didn't expect that before, to play already qualified.

"I have a lot of respect for the way they play.

"Of course it will be tough but it will be good. Hopefully people will enjoy it."
