Our daily digest of the best footballing tales from around the soccersphere.

Shorty is now a Christmas elf, delivering festive wishes to good Celtic supporting boys (ahem, bhoys) and girls.
Although Brendan Rodgers probably isn't too pleased with him putting his fitness at risk by dangling off a mantelpiece.

How come Bertie Auld was allowed to come in? Or did he sneak in with Scott Brown? Just as well they didn't break into Macaulay Culkin's house.
In other news, Mark Warburton has made his transfer pitch to the Rangers board. He presumably wants a few more players in the transfer window but could his team be about to get some wings rather than some wingers?
Red Bull are rumoured to be interested in buying the Ibrox club, adding them to their portfolio of football club billboards along with Red Bull Salzburg, the New York Red Bulls and Red Bull Oliver Burke.
Elsewhere, John McGinn has had surgery on an ankle injury, posting a picture of himself recovering in hospital. No sign of any wine gums, though - the ultimate hospital snack.
And the eulogies are still flowing for Steven Gerrard after he announced his retirement on Thursday. It's all in today's Football Talk.
