Celtic showed Barcelona too much respect, says Rodgers
The Celtic boss has called on the Scottish champions to impose their game on Catalan giants.
Brendan Rodgers admits Celtic showed Barcelona too much respect at the Nou Camp as he called on his side to impose their style on the Catalan giants in their Champions League clash on Wednesday.
Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick as the La Liga giants thrashed Celtic 7-0 at the start of the Group C campaign.
Rodgers says the Scottish champions have learned plenty from September's match and believes they can pose a much tougher test for Luis Enrique's men in Glasgow.
He said: "We showed too much respect on the evening and you have to respect they are good players but you can't take that into the game.
"You have to go in with a clear mind and try and impose your style into the game. That's the message from myself.
"I said at the time it was also about learning for us and I think clearly we showed from that performance that we've learned from that.
"For us we have to look to really impose our style and make it as difficult as we possibly can."
