Aberdeen have challenged James Maddison's yellow card for diving in their win over Inverness CT.

The midfielder received a caution after going down under a challenge from Gary Warren during the Dons' 3-1 victory on Saturday.

On-loan Norwich player Maddison protested against referee Kevin Clancy's decision and now the Dons will seek to have the card rescinded.

The player posted a video of the incident on his Twitter account, saying: "Can someone explain to me why I got booked for diving. Cuz I'm not quite convinced."

Two goals from Kenny McLean and one from Adam Rooney gave Derek McInnes' men all three points at the Caledonian Stadium.

Aberdeen face Celtic in Sunday's League Cup final at Hampden.
