Partick Thistle's Adam Barton wins Premiership player of the month
The 25-year-old midfielder wins the award for October after a string of impressive performances.
Partick Thistle midfielder Adam Barton has won the Scottish Premiership Player of the Month award for October.
The former Portsmouth and Coventry City man joined Alan Archibald's Jags at the close of the summer deadline for an undisclosed fee, committing his future to the Maryhill club with a 3-year deal.
Since his move Barton has been utilised as both a defensive midfielder and a centre back, playing the full 90 minutes in all of his six starts which includes all of Thistle's last five fixtures.
October saw The Jags rack up two draws, two wins and a loss, with Barton's performances catching the eyes of many, before he scored his first goal for the club in November as Partick fell 2-1 to Aberdeen at home.
Barton becomes the first senior Partick Thistle player to win the award since the rebranding of the Scottish League system in 2013.
