Brendan Rodgers: Celtic's defenders leave me spoilt for choice
The manager says he has already picked his team for clash against Borussia Monchengladbach.
Brendan Rodgers says he is spoilt for choice when it comes to talented defenders despite it being an area of concern during the summer.
The Celtic manager says he has already picked his team to face Borussia Monchengladbach in his side's third tie of the Champions League group stages on Wednesday.
He has a wealth of fit defenders at his disposal with Erik Sviatchenko expected to keep his place in the heart of the backline.
Kolo Toure, Dedryck Boyata and Cristian Gamboa are also fit while Jozo Simunovic has been edging closer to match sharpness since returning from his spell on the sidelines.
"I've got very good defenders," Rodgers said. "It was a big problem in the summer when I had none so I can't be complaining now when I've got them all fit and ready.
"They've all been super. The guys who have been playing have done exceptionally well."
He added: "Kieran has been exceptional, Erik I've been really impressed with. He's taken on board what we're trying to do and I've seen a difference in him from early season top now.
"I've got the mix of Jozo still getting back from long-term injury, as well as Kolo's experience which has been invaluable for us.
"Lustig will come back into the squad, an exceptional player for us since I've been here, and the guys behind that, Dedryk Boyata, Cristian Gamboa and Emilio [Izaguirre]".
