Craig Thomson will referee the League Cup semi-final between Rangers and Celtic, the Scottish FA has announced.

The official will be the man in the middle for the second derby between the two sides this season when they meet at Hampden on Sunday.

It is the 13th time Thomson will have taken charge of this particular fixture, making his bow back in 2006.

Kevin Clancy will take charge of the first semi-final between Aberdeen and Greenock Morton on Saturday.

Thomson will be supported by fourth official Steven McLean and assistants David McGeachie and Alan Mulvanny while Clancy has Alastair Mather, Gordon Crawford and Euan Anderson to call upon.

Willie Collum took charge of September's derby match at Celtic Park with Brendan Rodgers' men running out 5-1 winners.
