Darren Fletcher prepared to risk injury to play in Slovakia
The Scotland captain will have a fitness test on Tuesday after being injured against Lithuania.
Scotland captain Darren Fletcher is prepared to take a risk and play against Slovakia despite a thigh injury.
The midfielder took a knock in Scotland's 1-1 draw with Lithuania on Saturday and was substituted at half-time.
Manager Gordon Strachan said Fletcher was a doubt for Tuesday's World Cup qualifier but the West Brom player travelled with the squad.
He said he would miss Monday's training session but would undergo a fitness test ahead of the match and was prepared to take a risk, though he acknowledged Strachan would have the final say.
The national team manager said he had drawn up plans for his team with and without the 75-times-capped former Manchester United player.
"Of course I'd risk it," Fletcher said. "But that's down to the manager.
"If I'm able to play then of course I'm desperate to play.
"Obviously club games are important but representing your country is equally as important.
"I don't really look to protect myself like that. If I'm available to play, like I have all my career, and the manager selects me to play then I'll be out there doing my best."
