Danny Wilson says Rangers won't change their style of play despite a disappointing start to the Scottish Premiership season.

The Ibrox side sit seventh in the top flight after seven matches heading into Saturday's home clash with Partick Thistle.

Mark Warburton's defenders have come in for criticism after conceding 11 goals during that period with a 2-1 defeat at Pittodrie leaving the Light Blues seven points adrift of leaders Celtic.

But Wilson says they won't move away from a game plan built on possession.

He said: "No we're not going to change the style of play. We like to control the game and we know why we do that. We want to be on the ball and constantly probing.

"Sometimes that might mean we let the odd chance in or concede a goal but we're not going to change to please anyone else.

"We know why we're trying to play the way we are and hopefully we can keep the goals out and start putting them in at the other end.

"We've done a lot of analysis on it and a lot of the times we've been punished has come from when we have the ball. That's something we need to brush up on as a collective not just the defence.

"We're looking for ways to try and make it better."
