Jozo Simunovic has been added to Celtic's squad for the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League group stage.

The Croatian had been set to make a deadline day switch to Torino but the move fell through after the Serie A side attempted to change a permanent deal to a loan.

New right back Cristian Gamboa has been added, with Logan Bailly and Gary Mackay-Steven also being reinstated.

Kris Commons and Efe Ambrose are the senior figures in Brendan Rodgers' side excluded from the 34-man pool.

Commons, a pivotal figure in Celtic's past Champions League exploits, has recently returned to training after injury but will not be eligible to face Barcelona, Borussia Möenchengladbach or Manchester City.

Ambrose meanwhile had been the subject of interest on deadline day from Belgian side Standard Liege but opted to remain in Glasgow.

Kristoffer Ajer and Anthony Ralston were in the squad for the play-off round but have been omitted for the group stage.
