Norwegian midfielder Stefan Johansen has completed his move from Celtic to Fulham for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old was in London on Friday putting the final touches to his transfer to the English Championship side.

Johansen was unable to agree terms on a new contract with the Scottish champions and with his deal set to expire next summer Celtic have decided to cash in on the player.

The Craven Cottage club announced the Norway international's arrival on a three-year deal, with an option for the club to offer a 12-month extension.

Manager Brendan Rodgers accepted the former Stromsgodset man was set to depart in a deal which benefits both parties.

"Stefan's going into the last year of his contract," he said. "I've found him a really good guy and he's worked hard over pre-season but it's been difficult because he's been unable to reach an agreement with the club.

"I think he's always wanted to play in England so the opportunity has come for him. He wasn't going to sign a new deal so it's one that probably works well for both.

"I don't think it's complete yet but it's something that could happen possibly over the next couple of days."

Johansen signed for Celtic midway through the 2013/14 campaign under Neil Lennon and has made 114 appearances, scoring 20 goals.
