Just hours after Callum Paterson was named in the Scotland squad for the World Cup qualifier against Malta, reports continue to link him with a move down south.
Newcastle have now joined the race for the Hearts right back after Wigan were apparently put off by his £1.2million pricetag. They want to play him in their Under-23 side though.
Dundee look set to take on Hibernian in the battle to secure the signing of former Motherwell midfielder Tom Hateley. The 26-year old was to hold talks with Neil Lennon but could be swayed by a move to Tayside instead.
Former Hibs striker Farid El Alagui has gone on trial at Dunfermline after he failed to win a move to Inverness Caley Thistle. He's a free agent after leaving the Easter Road side in the summer.
Meanwhile, Tyler Blackett's move to Reading was finally confirmed after he put pen to paper on a three-year deal.
