Former Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos is training with Rangers as he aims to win a deal with the Scottish Premiership side.

The 31-year-old Switzerland international is a free agent after a six-month spell with Grasshoppers in his homeland.

Rangers boss Mark Warburton has been on the hunt for a new defender this summer with the Ibrox side holding talks with Steven Taylor and Adrian Mariappa while Oguchi Onyewu joined the club during their pre-season trip in America.

Senderos, who has also played with Everton, Aston Villa and Milan has now joined up with the Govan men.

Rangers started their Premiership campaign with a draw against Hamilton before a 2-1 win over Dundee on Saturday.
