Kolo Toure's experience is brilliant to have, says Kieran Tierney
Former Liverpool star expected to make his Celtic bow in the second leg against Astana on Wednesday.
Celtic defender Kieran Tierney is enjoying having former Liverpool star Kolo Toure training alongside him in a rejuvenated defensive line-up at Parkhead.
The young left-back has seen a number of changes since Brendan Rodgers came in during the summer but has managed to keep his place in a number of pre-season games and Champions League qualifiers.
Toure is expected to make his Celtic bow on Wednesday night in the second leg against Astana and Tierney is hopeful his experience will help them progress with the tie currently at 1-1 on aggregate.
The 19-year-old said: "His experience is brilliant.
"Even in the first few days you could tell from him always talking on the pitch and always commanding.
"It's brilliant to have someone like that in your defence."
As well as seeing new faces in the squad Rodgers has also tinkered with the tactics having played both 4-4-2 and 3-5-2 formations.
The change has saw Tierney deployed as an attacking wing-back although the youngster is taking the move as something of a positive to his own playing style.
Tierney said: "It's good in a way. You're learning more about the game every day in training so it can only benefit the team.
"It's as an attacking full-back which I like, so the attacking side is good but I also like defending as well."
