Paul Hartley sees positives for Dundee despite early League Cup exit
Dundee put 7 past League Two Forfar Athletic on Saturday, but missed out on a second place finish.
Dundee manager Paul Hartley believes that there are positives to be taken from Dundee's competitive matches thus far, despite an exit from the Betfred Cup.
Dens was awash with goals on Saturday as the Dark Blues posted a 7-0 win against Angus neighbours Forfar Athletic, however they miss out on the last 16 stage of the competition.
Though the failure to qualify comes as a blow, Hartley noted that there are signs of improvement to be taken from the games.
"We can take a lot of positives from how we've been playing" he said.
"Results haven't always been what we wanted but we are getting close to where we should be. It's still early days.
"But the signs are encouraging, especially going forward where we have lots of options.
"We will always try and attack as we're not a negative team. I have to give the players credit for how they went about their business against Forfar. Now it's about moving on."
