County new boy Routis wants Staggies to go again in top six hunt
French defender convinced to make the Highland switch by former Bradford teammate Andrew Davies.
New Ross County recruit Christopher Routis says the club want to build on last season's success and impress in the league and the cup.
The 26-year old made the switch to the Staggies when the 2015/16 season came to a close, copying teammate and former captain Andrew Davies.
Routis insisted that Davies and manager Jim McIntyre were crucial in luring him north of the border to Dingwall.
Speaking to STV the Bordeaux-born stopper said: "The manager let me know at the end of the season that he wanted to pick me up for the squad.
"He talked to me and it went really well. He talked to me simply and just let me know where he wanted to see me on the pitch, and I had a great feeling with [him].
"I spoke as well with the captain Andrew Davies because I played with him at Bradford, and he just told me a lot of good stuff about the club, about the staff, about the manager and about the area as well, so that's why I came here.
As speculation continues to grow over Davies' future at the club, Routis insisted that the feeling in the dressing room is one of positivity.
"It was a really good season for the club last year," the Frenchman said, "but I can feel from when I arrived here that the lads want to go again and that's the target.
"We always want to finish in the top six and we hope to have a good run in the cup."
