Rudi Skacel back in Scotland to train with Gary Locke's Raith Rovers
Hearts legend will spend time with the club's squad as Rovers aim to sign the Czech player.
Rudi Skacel has returned to Scotland to start training with Gary Locke's Raith Rovers.
The pair worked together at Hearts with Tynecastle legend Skacel remaining a hero in the maroon half of Edinburgh due to his exploits in Gorgie.
Now the 36-year-old will join the Championship side in a bid to win a deal.
Locke told Raith's website: "Rudi is a fantastic professional. He is very fit naturally, and once he gains his sharpness, I hope we can persuade him to sign for the club because he will be a first class role model for the whole squad, that's for sure.
"I am delighted he has agreed to link up with us, and I am certain his presence will create a real buzz as the season gets under way.
"He knows how to score goals, and to create chances for others so he could be a key player for us in the months ahead."
Skacel became a hero with Hearts fans during his first spell with the club before joining Southampton in 2006.
The Czech Republic international returned and helped the club lift the Scottish Cup in 2012, scoring twice in the final as they thrashed city rivals Hibernian 5-1 at Hampden.
