Brondby boss: 'Never underestimate the Scottish Cup winners'
Alexander Zorniger impressed by pace of Hibernian attack ahead of Europa League clash
Brondby boss Alexander Zorniger will not underestimate Hibernian in their Europa League qualifying tie.
The former VFB Stuttgart manager leads the Danes into the first leg at Easter Road on Thursday night as strong favourites, after demolishing Iceland's Valur 10-1 on aggregate in the first qualifying round.
But Zorniger is leaving nothing to chance against second tier Hibs, who will be playing their first competitive game under the charge of new head coach Neil Lennon.
Zorniger said: "You should never underestimate a team that won the cup final in Scotland.
"We saw their game against Motherwell so we know about the strength of the team - especially in the offensive game.
"They have a lot of really quick players in the offensive part of the pitch so we will have to be careful with that.
"But we have now been working with the guys for four weeks and, with all the respect for our opponents, we care much more about our own strengths."
Brondby have spent the whole week in Edinburgh, setting up training camp at Heriot-Watt University, where Hibs' city rivals Hearts are based.
Zorniger revealed he had spoken with Robbie Neilson this week but insisted he was not on a scouting mission to find out about the Scottish Cup holders, with the training camp instead focused on getting to know the squad he took over just two months ago.
The German coach said: "We have been practicing at the facilities of another club from the city.
"It was good to have the squad together for a few days because it was our first camp.
"It was important for me to get to know the guys, to speak to them without any time pressure."
Johan Larsson will captain the Danes in the absence of club captain Thomas Kahlenberg, and he revealed he has been learning about Hibs and Scottish football from his roommate - former Celtic striker Teemu Pukki.
Larsson, 26, played against Celtic in 2014 with Swedish side Elfsborg, and is expecting a physical challenge on Thursday night.
Asked about Pukki's insight into the Scottish game, Larsson said: "We talked about it, of course. He's got some good memories playing against Hibs.
"In general we think Scottish players come with a lot of power and intensity.
"I played against Celtic two-years-ago with my former team and I know it will be a tough task for us.
"But I think we are well prepared and ready for the game."
