Rangers duo Martyn Waghorn and James Tavernier have rejected deals to extend their stay with the newly promoted Ibrox club.

STV understands talks with the English pair, whose existing contracts run until 2018, have stalled.

Waghorn, 26, and Tavernier, 24, were key figures last season as they rampaged to Championship glory, scoring 43 goals between them.

Both joined the club from English League One champions Wigan at the start of Mark Warburton's reign in the summer of 2015.

Rangers have brought in eight new faces so far with Joey Barton, Jordan Rossiter, Josh Windass, Matt Crooks, Clint Hill, Niko Kranjcar, Matt Gilks and Lee Hodson all putting pen to paper.

Captain Lee Wallace has also renewed his contract with the club this summer.
