Hibernian boss Neil Lennon says he would like to bring in more new faces in time for next week's Europa League fixture but admits it is unlikely to happen.

The deadline for club's signing players in time for the second round of qualifiers is Friday at 11pm.

Hibs welcome Danish side Brondby, who won the first round against Icelandic opponents Valur 10-1 on aggregate, to Easter Road on Thursday, July 14.

Lennon doesn't expect to add to his squad of players before the fixture but says they will continue to keep the door open long after this initial window closes.

"I hope so but I would doubt it very much," he said when assessing his chances of welcoming new arrivals.

"You don't want to rush into these things either. We've got all the transfer window to do all the business that we want to do but if a player becomes available that we like obviously we will try and pursue that."

Meanwhile, Lennon says Finnish goalkeeper Otso Virtanen will start the European tie after playing 69 minutes of the 6-1 win over Edinburgh City on Thursday.

The 22-year old's only competitive run out for Hibs, since joining in January, was a last minute appearance in the Scottish Cup win over Inverness Caley Thistle in March.

"He's had limited time here playing for Hibs but certainly he has experience playing in the Scandinavian leagues, particularly in Finland," he said. "He's played over 100 games, so he will start.

"We also have Alex Palmer coming in from West Brom, we're having a look at him and he'll play some of the game against Motherwell on Sunday."
