Hearts' Jordan McGhee set to join Middlesbrough on season-long loan
The English Premier League new boys will have the option to make the defender's move permanent.
Hearts defender Jordan McGhee is set to join English Premier League new boys Middlesbrough on a season-long loan.
The Riverside team will have the option to sign the 19-year-old permanently, with a fee agreed between the two clubs.
McGhee will travel to Middlesbrough tomorrow with the deal expected to be completed early next week.
The teenager is in the final year of his contract with the Jam Tarts, meaning Hearts will be protected from receiving nothing for the youngster next summer.
McGhee has made nearly 60 appearances for Hearts since breaking into the first team fold in 2013, also collecting 16 caps for Scotland's Under-21s.
The centre-back, who can also play in the full-back positions, has been linked with a number of English clubs, with a move to join Boro in January falling through.
But he will now head down south to join Aitor Karanka's side.
