Andy Murray recovered from a slow start against Yen-Hsun Lu to reach the third round of Wimbledon.

The second seed had to hold off a spirited challenge from the Chinese player to gain a 6-3, 6-2, 6-1 win on Centre Court.

Lu flew out of the traps to break Murray in the opening game of the match before comfortably holding his serve to take a 2-0 lead.

An energetic opening from the 32-year-old forced Murray onto the back foot with some crisp ground strokes finding the lines to leave the home favourite scrambling. But it wasn't to last as Murray hit back for 3-3 before taking control to claim the first set 6-3.

In a role reversal of the first set, the British number one took advantage of his opponent's deteriorating serve stats to establish a 2-0 lead in the second.

Murray turned to the drop shot to steer him through crucial periods during the second set and another break saw him secure a two-set lead.

The world number 76 had few answers to Murray's dominance as the Scot broke early in the third and he never looked back as he powered his way into the next round.

And after one hour and 40 minutes, the Dunblane ace secured a meeting with Australia's John Millman on Saturday.
