Stuart Bannigan signs new two-year contract with Partick Thistle
The 23-year-old midfielder has rejoined the Firhill club until the summer of 2018.
Midfielder Stuart Bannigan has rejoined Partick Thistle on a new two-year contract.
The 23-year-old had been on the verge of departing Firhill with no progress on a fresh deal at the end of last season, but Alan Archibald has now signed the midfielder until the summer of 2018.
Bannigan has made 166 appearances for Thistle since making the step up to the first team in 2009, scoring nine goals in that time.
Archibald had threatened to quit the club in the event of Bannigan's sale during the January transfer window last season, although the Jags boss eventually resigned himself to losing the midfielder.
Inverness CT had been linked with a move for Bannigan, but the player will now return to Partick Thistle for the 2016/17 season after signing his new deal with the Maryhill club.
