Motherwell have completed the signing of former Inverness CT goalkeeper Dean Brill on a one-year deal.

The 30-year-old shot stopper was released by the Highland club at the end of last season after an injury-plagued campaign.

But Mark McGhee has added Brill to his Fir Park squad as a free agent, signing the goalkeeper for the season ahead, to compete with Craig Samson for the number one spot.

Brill told the Motherwell website "It's good to get it done, especially on the first day of pre-season after I was at training this morning. I'm pleased it's all done and I'm looking forward to the season ahead."

After working to regain his fitness in the close season, the Luton-born keeper is excited about the opportunities ahead under Mark McGhee, saying "I'm grateful to be here and push for that number one spot.

"The gaffer's a character from what I've been told and what I've seen this morning. He's got great experience and being involved in the Scotland set-up can only help as well."
