Rangers goalkeeper Cammy Bell is set to sign for Championship side Dundee United within the next 24 hours.

The 29-year old, who still has a year remaining on his Ibrox contract, is still to reach an agreement to sever ties with the Premiership newcomers.

The former Scotland internationalist will hold talks with the Tannadice club on Tuesday ahead of putting pen to paper with Ray McKinnon's side.

It would make Bell the new United manager's second signing of the summer after Stewart Murdoch swapped Dingwall for Dundee earlier this month.

Bell began his career as a youth player at Queen of the South, before making the switch to Kilmarnock in 2002.

He featured in five seasons for the club, racking up over 100 appearances between the sticks for the Ayrshire outfit, before signing a pre-contract agreement with Rangers in April 2013.

The keeper was first choice in Govan during his first season but fell down the pecking order to Wes Foderingham under Mark Warburton after missing his second campaign with a shoulder injury.

Meanwhile, Dundee United target Dean Brill looks set to sign for Motherwell by the end of the week.

The former Inverness Caledonian Thistle goalkeeper's contract expired with the Highland club at the end of the 2015/16 campaign.

The Steelemen have been winning the race to secure the 30-year old's signature over the Tannadice club and are close to agreeing a deal.

Chief operating officer at Motherwell, Alan Burrows, said on Monday there would be transfer deals completed at Fir Park this week.
