Andy Murray marked his reunion with Ivan Lendl with victory over Nicolas Mahut of France at Queen's Club.

The Scot, who once again had Lendl watching on from the sidelines, came out on top 7-6 (10-8) 7-6 (7-1) in London.

In a day disrupted by rain, Murray was forced to work hard and save set points in both sets to move into the next round.

Murray announced on Sunday that he would reunite with former Grand Slam winner Lendl with the former world number one helping the Dunblane ace claim two major titles.

Elsewhere in the tournament, Stan Wawrinka lost out to Fernando Verdasco.
